This course offers appropriate training to individuals and groups who require a first aid skill set including cardiac first response. Designed by PHECC it meets first aid and basic life support (BLS) requirements that a person known as “First Aid Responder” may encounter. On completion The First Aid Responder is able to assess and manage patients who become suddenly ill or injured in the pre-hospital environment until the arrival of emergency medical services (EMS)
The course aims to equip learners with the practical skills, knowledge and competencies to - provide first aid and life-saving support in an accident situation.
NOTE: This course replaces the old QQI Occupational First Aid Course.

Participants who successfully pass the assessments will be issued with a PHECC First Aid Responder Certificate. The certificate is valid for two years and indefinitely on attending a Refresher Course every two years
PHECC (Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council) is the statutory agency and the regulator for all pre-hospital emergency medical care in Ireland.
